European LifeCare Group (ELCG) has acquired travel medicine company, CityDoc, with support from Inflexion Private Equity. The investment was made by Inflexion Enterprise Fund IV, Inflexion’s dedicated lower mid-market fund.
CityDoc is a UK-based network of health clinics, specialising in the provision of travel medicine and vaccinations. The deal includes the acquisition of three London clinics and more than 150 franchised pharmacies.
CityDoc Founder Eoghan Macsweeney will stay on as commercial director.
The acquisition follows Inflexion Private Equity’s completion of a minority investment in ELCG back last November.
Founded in 1998, ELCG has more than 50 specialist clinics in Denmark and the UK, where the company trades under a number of brands, including London Travel Clinic. ELCG also works for both the Danish and English NHS as a contracted service provider of immunisation programmes in schools and national influenza vaccination programmes.
A spokesperson for Inflexion said: “CityDoc is strategically very important for us as it adds three flagship clinics in London in complementary locations to ELCG’s existing London Travel Clinic portfolio.”
The spokeperson added: “As such, the combined business will offer excellent London and the Southeast travel health coverage. CityDoc also brings an established sexual health screening service and a nationwide pharmacy vaccination franchise which we are looking to expand.”
ELCG is headquartered in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
